About Inner Melbourne Clinical Psychology
Inner Melbourne Clinical Psychology is a Melbourne psychology clinic built around a carefully selected team of mid to late career therapists, including experienced psychologists, clinical psychologists, accredited mental health social workers, couples therapists and a GP specialist in mental health.
For more than a decade, people across Melbourne have come to Inner Melbourne Clinical Psychology to talk about the things that matter most in their lives. More than 12,000 clients have sat in our consulting rooms and together we have had well over 100,000 conversations about the complexities of being human.
People come to Inner Melbourne Clinical Psychology for many reasons, often at a point where something in their life feels difficult, stuck or uncertain. Our role is not to offer quick answers or simple solutions, but to create the kind of space where people can slow down, think more clearly about what is happening and move toward change in ways that feel meaningful and sustainable.

Meaningful therapy requires more than techniques. It requires time to reflect, space to think and the ability for therapists to bring their full attention to the people they work with.
Why Inner Melbourne Clinical Psychology exists
Inner Melbourne Clinical Psychology was founded by Dr Jacqueline Baulch, a clinical psychologist in Melbourne, with the intention of creating a practice where therapy could be approached with care, depth and thoughtful attention.
The clinic was designed by a practising psychologist who understands both the complexity of therapeutic work and the conditions that allow therapists to sustain that work well over time.
Meaningful therapy requires more than techniques. It requires time to reflect, space to think and the ability for therapists to bring their full attention to the people they work with.
From the beginning, the practice was structured to support therapists to do their best work with clients. Clinicians are supported by a dedicated Support Team, manageable workloads and a strong culture of reflection, consultation and professional learning. This allows therapists to focus their energy where it matters most, the people sitting in the room with them.
Private practice can sometimes be isolating for therapists. Inner Melbourne Clinical Psychology was built with a different intention. Alongside independence in their work, clinicians are part of a respectful professional community where consultation, reflection and shared learning are encouraged.
Over time the clinic has grown into a team of experienced psychologists and clinicians practising across several locations in inner Melbourne. While the practice has expanded to three locations and a team of more than 20 clinicians, the original intention remains the same. To offer thoughtful psychological care grounded in experience, reflection and genuine human connection. Psychology with heart.

Our approach to psychology
We believe therapy works best when it is collaborative and shaped around the individual.
People seek therapy for many reasons. Some want practical strategies to manage anxiety, burnout or low mood. Others are navigating relationship challenges, major life transitions or longstanding patterns that feel difficult to shift. For some, therapy becomes a place to understand themselves more deeply and reflect on how they want to live.
Whatever the starting point, therapy is not one size fits all. We tailor the way we work to your needs, your pace and your preferences. Our aim is to help you develop a clearer understanding of yourself, the patterns you find yourself in and the changes you want to make in your life.
Evidence-based care
All psychologists and clinicians practising at Inner Melbourne Clinical Psychology are committed to evidence-based psychological care. Therapy is informed by the best available psychological research alongside the clinician’s professional training and experience.
Many clinicians within the practice have completed advanced postgraduate training in clinical psychology, while others bring extensive training through psychology, mental health social work, couples therapy and related disciplines.
Across the team there is also a strong culture of ongoing supervision, consultation and professional learning so clinicians continue to deepen their work over time.
Therapeutic frameworks we use
Our psychologists draw from a range of well established therapeutic approaches depending on the needs of the person or couple they are working with.
These may include:
Rather than applying a single model rigidly, therapists often integrate ideas from several frameworks in ways that support meaningful and sustainable change.

Our psychologists and clinicians
Inner Melbourne Clinical Psychology is home to a team of seasoned psychologists and clinicians who bring many years of experience to their work.
Our therapists are carefully selected not only for their professional training but also for the way they show up as humans in the therapy room and the quality of attention they bring to the people they work with.
They understand that life can be complex, tender and sometimes contradictory. They bring steadiness, warmth and thoughtful attention so people feel they are working with someone real rather than a script or formula.
Many of the therapists practising at the clinic are mid to late career clinicians who have spent years refining their therapeutic approach through experience, reflection and ongoing learning.
While psychology sits at the centre of the practice, we’re fortunate that our team includes accredited mental health social workers, couples therapists and a GP with expertise in mental health and wellbeing. This multidisciplinary environment allows for rich professional discussion and perspective on the challenges people bring to therapy.
Our Support Team
Our Support Team is at the heart of our clinic. They are often the first people you will connect with and they take genuine care to help you find a therapist whose experience and approach may be a good fit.
Their role extends far beyond the first phone call or email. The Support Team continue to support both new and existing clients throughout their time with the clinic. Many clients come to know the team well and stay in touch with them across the course of their therapy.
In this way the Support Team become part of the wider environment around the therapeutic work. They help the practical aspects of care run smoothly so that clients and therapists can focus their attention fully on the work taking place in the therapy room.
Professional standards and supervision
All psychologists practising at Inner Melbourne Clinical Psychology are registered with the Psychology Board of Australia and practise in accordance with the professional standards set by AHPRA.
Supervision and reflective practice are central to maintaining thoughtful psychological care. All of our clinicians regularly engage in professional consultation and supervision so they can reflect on their work, continue learning and deepen their clinical skills.
This culture of reflection helps ensure therapy remains careful, ethical and responsive to the needs of clients.
