Three beliefs that colour the way I work with my clients:

I believe…

That making room for our thoughts and feelings can empower us to find the best way forward when life gets tough.

I believe…

That understanding the influence of our past on how we show up in the world now can be life changing.

I believe…

That knowing and enacting one’s values is key in leading a life that is authentic and fulfilling.

Get to know me

My secret talent:
I love baking. My cinnamon scrolls and brownies are especially delish!

What’s it like to be in a room with me?
I am a warm and genuine person. Clients have often expressed quickly feeling comfortable talking to me and being heard and understood with care and compassion. I am also a deep thinker and like to work together with clients to build curiosity and insight into their difficulties. At the same time, I try to be fully respectful of where my clients are at and take things at their pace in therapy sessions.

What’s my non-negotiable when it comes to taking care of my own mental health?
Having predictable and consistent time to myself for simple acts of self-care each day is a game changer and an absolute non-negotiable for me amongst the business of everyday life.

My life motto:
“Wherever you go, go with all your heart”.

My background and experience

I have worked as a registered psychologist for 6 years within both public and private mental health services. In this time I have worked with people of various ages and presenting with a range of psychological difficulties, including depression, anxiety, OCD, bipolar disorder and psychosis.

In recent years I have developed a keen interest in perinatal mental health and I enjoy working with clients on the journey to parenthood and through parenting related challenges. Acknowledging that this can be a very sensitive time for individuals and families, I am passionate about helping people feel seen and supported as they tackle the unexpected challenges that can emerge along the way – from fertility issues, loss or emotional concerns during pregnancy through to postnatal mental health and early parenting difficulties.

I have training and experience in a number of different evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including CBT, ACT, DBT and Schema Therapy. I try to draw flexibly from these approaches in a way to suit each individual client’s needs, depending on their background, presenting issues and goals for therapy. Further, I have a good understanding of attachment theory and am a registered Circle of Security parent educator.
